Register to Vote:

• January 1 to August 12, 2026 – Voters to contact MPAC at RegisterToVoteON.ca to confirm, update, add information

School Board Support:

• January 1 to June 1, 2026 – Voters to confirm or update trustee election information with MPAC

Nomination Period – Municipal Council and School Board Trustees

• Nomination Papers for candidates for the 2026 Municipal Election may be filed during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays). Appointment required.

May 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026

Campaign Period – Municipal Council and School Board Trustees

• The period begins on the later of May 1, 2026, or the date a candidate files their nomination paper, and ends on December 31, 2026.

Registration Period – Third Party Advertisers

• Registrations for Third Party Advertisers may be filed during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays). Appointment required.

Restricted Period for Third Party Advertisements

• The restricted period for Third Party Advertisements starts on the later of May 1, 2026, or the date an individual, corporation, or trade union registers as a registered third party for the election. It concludes at the close of voting on October 26, 2026.

Nomination Day

• Last day to file Nomination Papers for candidates for the 2026 Municipal Election to be filed no later than 2:00 p.m. 

Withdrawal Of Candidate

• Last day for Candidates wishing to withdraw nomination must do so no later than 2:00 p.m. 

Additional Nominations (If Necessary)

• If necessary, additional nominations will be received between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. 
• If a candidate who filed on this day wishes to withdraw their nomination they must do so no later than 2:00 p.m. 

Revision Period (Amend Voters’ list) 

Applications (including acceptable identification) may be made to the Clerk to make additions, corrections or deletions of own information to the voters’ list.

In Person changes 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Municipal Office (weekends and holidays excepted)

REPLACEMENT Voter Information Letters

• Replacement Voter Information Letters are available for individuals who meet established criteria and eligibility requirements.
  

Voting Day

• Final day that qualified Electors may cast their vote up to 8:00 p.m. 
• Unofficial election results will be released after 8:20 p.m. on www.bracebridgevotes.ca
  

Election Results

• The Clerk will declare the official election results as soon as possible after Election Day.
