Your municipal election checklist: Simple steps to get ready to vote
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (August 24, 2026) – With the 2026 Municipal Election approaching, residents are encouraged to take a few simple steps now to ensure they're ready to cast their ballot this October.
Whether you're a first-time voter or have voted in previous municipal elections, staying informed ahead of election day helps ensure a smooth voting experience.
Residents are encouraged to complete the following election checklist:
- Subscribe for election updates. Stay informed about key dates, voter information, candidates and reminders by subscribing for email updates at bracebridgevotes.ca/subscribe.
- Learn about the candidates. Candidate profiles and information are available at bracebridgevotes.ca, helping voters make informed decisions before voting online or by phone.
- Confirm that you're on the voters list. Beginning September 1, residents can confirm they are on the voters list or register if needed. Being on the list helps ensure a quicker and easier voting experience.
- Watch for your voter information letter. Beginning the week of October 1, eligible voters should check their mailbox for their voter information letter, which will include important details about how to vote.
- Spread the word! Encourage friends, family and neighbours to make a plan to vote. Sharing reminders and election information helps build awareness and strengthens participation across the community.
- Cast your ballot between October 14 and October 26. Eligible electors can vote online or by telephone from anywhere.
