Serving as Mayor of Bracebridge has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. My commitment remains straightforward: put residents first, manage growth responsibly, protect what makes Bracebridge special and ensure our community remains strong and affordable for generations to come.

Bracebridge has accomplished a great deal, but there is more work ahead.

My commitment is to continue providing experienced, steady and responsible leadership while keeping a clear focus on affordability, housing, health care, infrastructure, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship and the quality of life for all our residents.

I believe we can continue growing and investing in our community without losing sight of who we are.

A strong economy. Responsible growth. Healthy finances. A protected environment. A caring community.

That is the Bracebridge I believe in and the Bracebridge I will continue working to build.

If I am elected as your Mayor I will fight to get the best possible hospital for Bracebridge. I will have regular discussions with MAHC to restore services such as obstetrics, and ALC beds to our hospital. I am not in favour of the new hospital being built in an unserviced gravel pit! I will work to make sure we have no tax increases. I will trim budgets if need be to achieve a zero tax increase. I will only support needs not wants. I will support helping people find housing, but I will not support the District building a $17 million factory. I believe there is too much overlap of District and Town responsibilities, especially roads. I will work to make this more efficient. Why should the district have any say in what we do on Manitoba Street? Local contractors that hire local workers will be given priority in Town contract awards because they will most likely spend the money they earn locally. Above all I will let people know what is happening in the Town hall. I AM NOT A FAN OF CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS. I am open to any and all reasonable suggestions. Because not everyone uses the internet to get information, we will start a regular PAPER newsletter if I am elected.

With roots in Muskoka going back 5 generations I’m fortunate to call Bracebridge my home, and as someone who is raising my family here, I have a real stake in our future. Without meaningful change in our trajectory, that future is uncertain.

• Bracebridge deserves a full hospital, not a transfer site.
• Our environment must be protected, not over-developed.
• Council must be accountable, and accessible to the residents of Bracebridge.

The best decisions come from full participation, and our council table should reflect that. Younger voices on affordability, healthcare, environment, and infrastructure are largely absent from that table. Buying a starter-home decades ago was a vastly different experience than trying to buy a first home today, and that disparity in lived experience shapes different perspectives.

We need a range of backgrounds to engage in long-term planning that supports residents today, and in the years to come. I’m running to bring a younger, action-oriented point of view to the council table. A vote for me is a vote for progressive, accountable change, and a sustainable future.

Representing you these past 4 years as your Deputy Mayor and Town and District Councillor has been one of the most meaningful things I've done.

Good local government isn't flashy - it's steady and thoughtful: showing up, listening, and making decisions that hold up ten years from now, not just until the next election. That's how I've worked, and how I'll keep working if you send me back.

Bracebridge is a kind, connected community, and keeping it that way means responsible growth, healthy finances, real environmental protection, affordability, housing and health care that reach beyond the hospital. This work is already underway, and I want to see it through.

Bracebridge has been kind to me and my family. It’s for this reason I want to serve the community as a councillor.
Since graduating from BMLSS, I have been fortunate to have a career focused in Muskoka – as a journalist, publisher and retailer – all of which gave me insights into the concerns of our voters. My community involvement as a Rotarian for over 40 years and with numerous volunteer groups has opened my eyes to the many challenges facing our residents.
Listening to you and giving a voice to your concerns at both the Town and District Council tables are the two commitments I’ve made since first being elected – I’ve asked the tough questions that you wanted answered. My focus has been on making better decisions at both Councils.
Going forward, continuing the gains in building affordable housing, advocating for better healthcare with attention to mental health, creating a positive local business environment during difficult times, reducing the size of District Council, modernizing all municipal operations, implementing the Town’s priority of more public waterfront access and ensuring both our watershed and environment receive the attention they deserve will be my priorities.

Bracebridge is home to three generations of my family, and that makes the decisions we make here very personal to me. I’m raising my eight-year-old daughter in this community, while my parents and mother-in-law are seniors here too. I want Bracebridge to be a place where our kids can see a future for themselves, where families can afford to build a life, and where our seniors can feel supported and connected.

That’s why I’m proud to be running for re-election as your District Councillor.

Over the past four years, I’ve focused on the issues I believe matter deeply to our future — protecting Muskoka’s environment, creating more attainable housing and strengthening local health care.

I also work in Muskoka’s tourism sector, an industry that supports so many local families and businesses, and I serve as Chair of the Muskoka Community Land Trust, working on practical solutions to our housing challenges.

I have a long family history that dates back to my ancestors who bought a farm near Port Carling on Lake Rosseau in late 1800's. I was born in Bracebridge and graduated from BMLSS. Upon completion of post-secondary studies, I assisted people with disabilities move from institutions to their home communities. In 1999 I obtained my real estate license and served on the BMLSS parent council and 3rd Bracebridge Sea Scouts. I live in Ward 1 and have made my home of 34 years on the Muskoka River and together with my late husband, raised our two sons. If elected, my priority is to continue being accessible, listening, and responding to your ideas, concerns and queries around municipal affairs bringing my business and leadership to council and to manage tax dollars responsibly. A healthy environment is a healthy economy, and we need to work in collaboration with the community, indigenous people and the province. Building community capacity to plan differently for ALC beds and affordable housing is needed. I care deeply about this community and the people who live here. I have lived in Macaulay Ward for over 30 years; raising my family, building my career, and fostering a strong sense of community. It is an honour to put my name forward to run for Bracebridge Council and contribute back to this place we call home. Having worked as a healthcare professional in Muskoka for 30 years has allowed me to connect with a lot of people and learn firsthand who this community is made up of and what is important to them.

As a Councillor, I will use that knowledge to promote a healthy community, which includes everything from economic health, environmental health, social health and population health. I believe in fair and equitable access to the basics of life; food, shelter and safety and in building systems that are stable, accessible and responsive to the needs of community members. I will support proposals that contribute to building a thriving year round economy and that create social connection and a sense of belonging. I believe in expanding green spaces to highlight the natural beauty of the area and in creating safe spaces for active transportation to promote healthy lifestyles for all ages.

My Priorities for the Next Term

1. Hold the line on the 8-year average — keep tax increases as close to or below inflation as fiscally responsible, even through major capital projects.
2. Full transparency on long-term forecasts — residents deserve to see multi-year projections clearly, not budget-by-budget.
3. Continue to fight for a full service hospital in Bracebridge, that supports South Muskoka with adequate beds, and that our doctors fully support.
4. Fight for a full service Obstetrics unit in Bracebridge, so our future citizens can be born safely here in our town.
5. Keep growth paying for growth — support development charge relief paired with real fiscal guardrails.
6. Deliver on housing commitments — Memorial Arena site redevelopment, on time and on budget.
7. Build a genuinely active-transportation-friendly Bracebridge — expand sidewalks, trails, and safe cycling routes across every neighbourhood, not just the downtown core.
8. Invest in prevention, not just response — back the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan with real follow-through at the Town level.

WHY I'M RUNNING

I believe strong communities are built through listening, transparency, accountability and practical leadership. My experience in healthcare, small business, financial management and community service has given me a practical understanding of the challenges facing residents, families and local businesses.

I will ask the hard questions, look carefully at the numbers and support decisions that provide value for taxpayers. Growth is important, but it must be responsible and supported by the infrastructure and services our community needs.

I will work to protect the character of Bracebridge, our rural communities, waterways and natural environment while supporting responsible economic development and housing opportunities.

I believe we must protect and strengthen the services that make our community a good place to live, work and raise a family, including healthcare and essential municipal services.

Most importantly, I will listen, communicate openly, consider different perspectives and be willing to ask difficult questions—even when it isn't the easiest thing to do.

I will stand strong for our community.

I have been based in Bracebridge for employment with agencies since 1989, supporting families from prenatal classes, throughout student's school careers, to being present when loved ones have died. I have supported my family members as educators in their careers. I have worked in partnership with TLDSB for over 30 years to create many initiatives, professional development and events to promote education in Bracebridge and Muskoka.

For forty years I was CEO of a manufacturing company (15 years in Bracebridge). I understand
